One of
his many hobbies includes church trips and by doing that he gets to travel,
which he also enjoys. Jacob, 16, loves to travel the mountains and experience
great memories with his church family. Growing up here in Roanoke, Virginia he
found a love for the mountains and exploration. Ferris lives with his mom,
three dogs and two cats; he is also an only child. He wants and plans to go to BYU (Brigham Young
University), a private research university in Utah.
With
many of his adventures, his favorite was going to Palmyra, New York. In New York,
he camped out for two days outside a temple. “My favorite part was cooking out
by a camp fire with everyone” said Ferris. In the duration of the two days
there, the group mainly bonded; went to a play that was about old folk tales
and cooked for his friends. Ferris said about one of his adventures, “It was a
great experience to have with friends and [he] would love to experience it
again!”
On the
last adventure, Jacob talked about his most exciting vacation he had. On this trip, he camped out for
a whole month around Roanoke with his church. Ferris wagon pulled his
belongings like settlers did in the old days to really get the full feel of a
pioneer. “The trek was difficult and really showed me how hard it was for
pioneers traveling west.” Said Farris about his journey. Jacob hopes to do it
again soon.
